Legal stuff
This site and

that have been giving permissions
from it's copyright holders to be
featured for download here by our
host . You are not permitted to
upload any of these MP3 Soundtracks
on another site not hosted by BTTR and with the permission of the webmaster.
You acknowledge by downloading any
files here, that you will not hold
the webmaster or our host liable
for any damages. If you are copyright holder and want a specific soundtrack removed, contact the webmaster.
Web Browsers
Initial Music was
designed to be used with Internet
Explorer 6 & 7. While completing
the site we have successfully tested
it on Netscape
7.1, Motzilla and Firefox which runs the site
perfect after a few fixes. We do
not recommend Opera as it cannot handle the bars stretching
but its still navigatable but looks
weird, we are working on fixing
this. If your using the text only
browser Lunx,
it works surprisingly well but you
will find that the nav menu is at
the button due to Lunx doesn't support tables well. For
Amiga browsers we had successful
reports of Voyager working perfectly, Aweb gives some gfx errors in the nav
menu system and ibrowse haven't been tested yet.
Isn't featuring MP3 Soundtracks from Amiga illegal
?
It might be but we only
provide Amiga game music that our
host BTTR have been giving permission
from their copyright holders to
be featured for download. This is
why you are not permitted to upload
any of these MP3 soundtracks featured
here on another website or media
not hosted by BTTR or if you are
hosted by BTTR you need permission
of the webmaster of Initial
Music. In other words,
for personal use only!
How do the staff at Initial Music rip the CD
audio ?
We have chosen to
use the excellent CDex and encode it using Lame version
1.30 at 192kbps which offers a near
realistic quality representation
of the original CD audio from our
collection of CDTV and CD32 games.
If your interested in ripping CD
music as MP3, we recommend
you stick to encoding in Lame and
use a minimum of 128kbps, preferable
192kbps.
What's the difference from Amiga 500/1200 music
compared to CDTV/CD32 ?
The Amiga 500/1200
featured games as disks (720k) ,
thus used various formats like MOD
that would fit on a disk together
with the game. The CDTV & CD32
used CD's so that's why most of
the time we would see Extras in
the form of enhanced CD Audio tracks,
AGA support (better gfx) , more
levels and so on. Most of our CDTV/CD32
soundtracks online has an "Extra"
in the form of the original MOD
in the review pages to let you hear
the difference yourself's.
I'm missing the
first song (01) in the CDTV/CD32 soundtracks,
why ?
Most of the MP3 soundtracks
starts from 02 and not 01 as 01
is the Game Data Track (not that
we include this ) as you will find
out when you download. We desided
to keep this for those who wants
to add the music to their Amiga
CD's.
Why can't I play the files properly ?
Most of the files
supplied here at Initial Music are
in either MOD or MP3 format, which
means they aren't just one big recorded
sample of a tune. MOD files are
made up of instrument samples and
song data which acts as a musical
score. Using this method, a tune
can be stored in a very small space.
You will need some good software
to listen to the files we offer;
check the Audio Players page for
the right ones.
Can
I request a Soundtrack ?
We only add Soundtracks
when we have a review for it. If
your eager for a specific soundtrack
to be featured online, write a review
to us and it's 99% sure it will
be featured in next update with
complete soundtrack! Additionally
any reviews done by fans will be
credited at the contributors
page. Note that even though
we have several permissions granted
to uploading mp3 Soundtracks, you
might end up requesting soundtracks
we do not yet have permission to
feature here. If so we will try
and fix it as soon as possible but
rest assured we will include the
MOD soundtrack in the meantime.
Can
I request a copy of an MP3 file in a higher
bitrate then 192kbps ?
Unlike the archived
MOD files, MP3 Audio files aren't
that small. Most are several megabytes,
thus we have decided not going any
higher then 192kbps with the quality
of our featured soundtracks. You
can request a temporarily higher
bitrated song or soundtracks for
download if it's crucial for you
on the forum, but we do not guaranty
we can comply with all requests
made.

I want a MOD/MP3/WAV version please !
We always tries to
supply the most accessible type
of file for everyone. If the music
is not in a format you want, it's
because it would be to large to
feature online. Ask in the forums
if you want us to convert to another
format, though we do not guaranty
anything.
Can you send me
a copy of the game ?
No! Piracy
is theft and we do not support such
a thing. We suggest you try Ebay
which has used original Amiga Games
for A500/A1200 and the CDTV/CD32
for sale. You can also visit our
affiliates and link section which
features games for various platforms.
